Her background in crisis and community mental health care informs her approach to stabilizing diverse mental health needs and partnering toward individualized, unique goals.

Biography

Kat has lived in Oregon most of her life, Portland since 1998, and in the NE area since 2010. She lives with her partner and four children in a very lively household, with a few pets and several musical instruments. When she has free time, she likes to spend it relaxing, or exploring and creating, with her kids. Her favorite activities are anything related to art, planting + harvesting from their garden, bicycling, taking trips to beaches near and far, biking, and playing on Mt. Hood in the snow.

Rachael Waas Shull

As a psychiatric nurse practitioner, Rachael is passionate about working with individuals to achieve mental health. She has an extensive background in caring for and working with individuals in times of struggle and transformation as a birth doula, a labor and delivery nurse,and a nurse educator. Now as a PMHNP, she is bringing her 13 years of nursing experience specifically to support patients in their pursuit of mental and emotional wellbeing. Rachael utilizes an integrative approach that understands medication as a tool alongside sleep, nutrition,social support and psychotherapy as important elements to health and balance. She appreciates the vulnerability required in seeking care, and her curiosity and compassion for each individual’s unique circumstance fosters collaborative decision making with her patients.

 

As she has worked with the pregnant and birthing population for her entire career, Rachael has a particular interest in perinatal mental health and is skilled in supporting individuals before, during, and after pregnancy and birth, including the struggles that can come related to birth trauma, pregnancy loss or interruption, and various postpartum mood and anxiety changes. She holds additional certification and training in perinatal mental health. Additionally, Rachael possesses a depth of understanding of the challenges of healthcare workers, particularly those in acute medical settings, and for this reason, she hopes to help foster sustainable mental health care practices and support mental wellbeing among healthcare workers. She also has interest in and clinical experience working with ADHD and autism, and appreciates working with patients exploring these clinical areas.

Biography

Originally from Michigan, Rachael has been in the Pacific Northwest for more than 20 years. She is happy to be raising her three kids in between the mountains and the ocean. Prior to nursing, Rachael earned a degree in Peace Studies and Sociology from a small liberal arts college in Indiana. She remains engaged in issues of social justice and will forever be interested in how the inequities of our social structures have the potential to harm, and remains dedicated to understanding her role in providing anti-racist, socially just, equitable care. In pursuit off balance in her own life, she loves to read, bake sourdough, be outside, play games and watch movies with her family, and listen for wisdom in unexpected places.

Vanessa Hutton

Vanessa's practice focuses on integrative mental health interventions that incorporate dietary modifications, improved sleep habits, brief psychotherapy, and medication management. She partners with individuals across the lifespan to set mental health goals, and work toward achieving these through incorporation of evidence-based practice and acknowledgement of a person’s lived experience.

 

Vanessa has received additional training to become an ADHD Certified Clinical Services Provider, which equips professionals with the knowledge and skills to effectively support individuals with ADHD in managing their daily challenges.

.

She also collaborates closely with other healthcare providers within the community to realize a holistic approach to wellness.

Biography

Vanessa has lived in the PNW her entire life and in her free time enjoys sewing, reading, and spending time with her husband and twin daughters, (and their four rescue chihuahuas).

Patrick Hassenfritz

Patrick has over 13 years of experience working with diverse populations in inpatient cardiac, neurotrauma and mental health specialties, with the past several years being focused on mental health advanced practice nursing. He enjoys working with people to help them establish their mental health goals and always strives to meet people "where they are" and to assist them to make decisions based on their stated goals. He honors people's autonomy and always tries to provide choices for patients that backed up with clinical reasoning, informed by evidence-based .

Biography

Originally from the midwest, Patrick has been in the Pacific Northwest for more than 20 years. He enjoys down time at the coast, kayaking and rock collecting, with his partner, son and 2 labradoodles.
